"Charles Wuorinen's Reliquary refers to material which Stravinsky was working on at the time of his death, but the last thing Wuorinen was aiming at was pious imitation of the master. There's an exuberant elaboration here that is almost Schoenbergian, at least until the understated coda, and this strong piece fully earns its place on the disc.
